About Me
When I was a kid growing up in NYC in a family of highly creative parents, there was no notion of ADHD or neurodiversity. It was many many years later that girls were even considered to have ADHD, everyone thought it was just a boy thing.
When I left my career as a literary agent, I came to the town where I went to college, seeking a different life and a deeper notion of 'communication'. My background in Philosophy combined with a Masters in Clinical Social Work and a love of conversation led me into private practice.
Upstate NY where I live is known for its very long and very cold winters, so when the sun and spring return, I like to get out digging and planting. When I'm out in the garden, I'm in hyperfocus mode: I lose all track of time...and I just love it!
I like to pack every inch of the garden with something: an annual, a perennial, lettuce, carrots—this year I was determined to try snap peas for the first time. The more the better describes my philosophy! It's a great place for birds and I love watching my dog run around in it. I especially love having my first cup of coffee in the garden, making observations, watching, listening....
I've been an Iyengar yoga practitioner for many years. I think of it as intellectual yoga. In Iyengar, you have to think and observe every moment, it is as precise as ballet. And it's fun: my most accomplished pose—along with Paul MacCartney is a headstand. It took me years to learn!
