When I was first diagnosed with ADHD as a young adult, it meant nothing to me. I had done well in school, I didn’t think I was flighty or hyperactive. But then I learned that ADHD in adults doesn’t look like it does in kids (throwing erasers at the blackboard or bouncing off the walls). And I learned that untreated ADHD has very far-ranging consequences: at work, at home, and even on the road.

I thought about my patients and realized that almost every single one of them had ADHD (like attracts like) and had difficulty regulating their emotions! And it was the ground of a lot of pain and suffering for them.

When I learned that ADHD was about so much more than distractibility and procrastination, my brain started lighting up. I reviewed my own life, and saw the pattern reflected in almost every aspect of it. I began to review these same ideas with my clients, and bam! insight blossomed and change began to happen for them.

That is why I specialize in helping adults with ADHD. I know your life can be different. Looking at your past and present life through the lens of ADHD offers that change.
